The Legends Football League – Underwear NOT under there

So I must be a little behind the times, because how this escaped me I have no idea.  I blame the laundry.  Nonetheless, I have recently learned about the Legends Football League (LFL), formerly known as the Lingerie Football League, which was truly a more appropriate name.  Yes, this is women, playing football in their bra and underwear.  I’ve had two weeks to mull it over and here are my thoughts.  I say why not.

First off, let’s all agree we love it when our bras match our underwear.  When you have a whole team matching, well, it is darn impressive.   But there is more here.  Women football leagues have been around for quite some time, but have really never taken off to in any way to compete with the NFL.  So here, someone decided to add a little flare.  I give it an A+ for creativity.  Some people may be offended at the objectification factor – which is a legitimate point, but let’s not be too judgmental.  Have you seen women’s beach volleyball?  In fact, we have had Olympic Beach Volleyball in which our esteemed Team USA sported itsy bitsy teeny weenie red bikinis.  These gals pretty much have the same outfit but at least have their shoulders covered!  More importantly, no one scores touchdowns at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

I admire the athleticism and if you love football, you can’t help but be at least a little curious about the game itself.  So, take a minute or two and watch the youtube.com promo.  Better yet, watch the clip entitled “Gilbert Brown takes on the Legends Football League” which is a reminder that the love of the game is a must to succeed in the game, and most certainly necessary for anyone, indeed, to play in their underwear.
